Well, this is where the wisdom of our elders should kick in. Unfortunately, we are misled to believe that it doesn't apply today. Things are different, new ways of operating, etc... Beware!

"If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

I've had the same offers for my sites that were brand spanking new. Guess what I did? I ignored them. Why waste your time with what is obviously a scam. I do not deal with dishonest people. As soon as I detect something is not right, you won't hear from me again.

Liars are just that - liars. Let them speak and you have made the choice yourself that you want to be deceived. What follows, then is your own fault. They are still culpable for their lies, but you definitely contributing to their lies by letting them speak to you after you have sensed there are lies involved.

If you know they are liars then shut them up by shutting them out. It's that simple. Don't reply to them. (No additional charge for the advice.)

I just received two of these scam requests and since I'm curious I googled it and discovered this blog.
The info has helped me a lot and I'll be more careful in exchanging links in the future :)

I have finally fully realized (after reading your blog) and after manually checking for some of my "promised" back links that the whole system is rooted in dishonesty and shameful practices. I believed in the beginning that the link exchange sites were here to help people out and maybe the creators of said sites are good at their roots however most if not all the people that join the link exchange sites are playing games and quickly remove your link from their site shortly after placing it, and thats even if the page still exists. right now I have a large links page that has mixed links on it (some honest links back and fourth) and some that i need to delete. But this is going to take time, just as much time as it took me to create all these links in the first place...my advice to people out there is keep your links page clean and simple and only make a link partner out of someone that is actually going to uphold the promise of being a "partner" and thats to help eachother out. I set out a year ago to create a non sketch link directory that never requires a link back and gives people a voice to promote themselves with...and again I am reminded why I did that in the first place......theres just too many dishonest internet marketers out there....bummer...

My site is just over a month old and yet i have receive 3 link exchange requests. i was very happy when i received the first request for link exchange to a PR5. I questioned her why she wanted to exchange links when i have no PR yet. I didn't receive a response as she realised i caught on when i checked the website PR again. It was a zero. After the third request i filled out the form on the nomoreemails and hopefully should not receive any more link exchanges.
