I assume these must be one company and they constantly change their company name and URL because they keep getting outed. If this is your first time getting one of these, there is no one trying to register the Chinese version of your domain. It’s all a ruse to extort money. Millions of these go out to emails addresses they scape from the internet – most likely the whois database.
Below is the original email:
Dear General Manager,
I’m sorry to disturb you so abruptly
We are a domain name registration and dispute organization in Hongkong Asia. Currently, we have to confirm with you about something very important.
On October 19, 2010, we received an application formally. One company named “Melioking International Inc.” wanted to applied for the network brand “gourmemist” and some domain names through our body. After our initial investigation,we found that the domain names and network brand which have been applied by Melioking company are closely associated with your company. We do not know the relation between your company and the Melioking company, so we have to confirm with you at two points:
1. If your company consign Melioking company to register these domain names and network brand, we will finish their application.
2. If your company have nothing to do with Melioking company, they maybe have other purposes to register these domain names and network brand .
This is very urgent and important. Maybe the person in charge failed to receive my email as Spam Filter or Firewall. If you are not in charge of this, please forward this letter to the person in charge. If you do not know who is the person in charge, please forward this letter to your superior.
In order to deal with this issue better, please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible. Thanks for your cooperation and waiting for the reply from your company.
Warmest regards,
Jojo Tung Auditing Director

Would it really matter if another person had your domain in another country? Long ago I had my original domain name hacked and taken. I just ended up taking the same name with a .ca instead of a .com. My domain has been passed around and up for sale for more than 5 years now. I think they originally expected I would offer to buy it. I never did. They can keep paying for it every year. I’ve rebuilt my site and mine is the only active domain, of the two.
